Short half day course initially in a classroom environment explaining the legal
requirements and safety issues relating to directing vehicles on a site. Then to go outside in a yard to demonstrate skills learnt.
Course therefore is usually carried out on customer's site withthe practical
element in the yard to demonstrate and practice the hand signalling techniques
to an acceptable standard.

Recognise
the importance of directing vehicles around a site in a safe manner
Recognise
the risks from vehicles on and off site
Understand
the role played in protecting yourself and others from vehicle
Giving
clear and precise signals to vehicles in an accepted manner
Reasons for training:
Approximately 20-30 fatalities per
year from moving vehicles
More than 600 serious injuries
Thousands of minor injuries
