Steps To Getting You A LGV Licence
Step 1
Download or request for your LGV provisional licence application form called a D2 and a medical form called a D4 from http://www.direct.gov.uk/ You can provide us with your name and address, including your postal code and we will send a pack to you.
Step 2
Fill in the form and take the medical form to your GP for the medical. There will be a fee or we recommend using Drivers Medicals http://www.driversmedicals.com/ or ring 01454 317436 to book an appointment in the closest area to you. This can cost from £51 upwards.
Step 3
Send your completed form and medical form off; along with your current licence to, DVLA, Swansea, SA99 1BR
Step 4
While you’re waiting for your licence (DVLA aims to deliver within three weeks), study up on the LGV theory test. Books can be purchased from a shop or borrowed from your local library. We also hold a few copies of these books (but limited numbers).
Step 5
When your licence arrives back from the DVLA you can book your theory test – Cost £35 for the theory and £15 Hazard perception total £50. We are happy to do this on your behalf if you wish.
Step 6
Once you have passed your theory test contact us and we will arrange your LGV training and test. Currently the DVLA test fee is £115.00. Current costs for your course is £935.00 + test fee £115.00 total £1050.00 in our training vehicle. Please contact us as prices will vary if we are training in your own vehicle (subject to meeting the DSA requirements for test standards).

Full Name as it appears on your licence
Full Address as it appears on your licence
Date of Birth
Driving licence number
Theory test pass date
Theory test number
The best dates that suit you to under take your course. Depending upon the categories you have on your car licence, and if you wish to use your LGV licence to carry out a job, you will need to take Modules 2 and 4 of the Driver CPC to obtain your Initial DCPC card.
